Holiday mood

 

We got to spend our last two days in beautiful Negombo, with a hotel right next to the beach, freaking goals. It was so nice and relaxing! Unfortanely many in the team got sick so that really sucked!
And I have to  add we took the train from Nuwara Elya and wooow would highly recommend doing that. For some reason I didn't take any pictures but there were so many gorgeous views the entire way!!
Vi spenderade våra två sista dagar i vakcra Negombo på ett hotel precis bredvid havet, så himla najs! Det var så mysigt och avslappnande! Tyvärr blev många i teamet sjuka dock, så det sög verkligen!
Måste även lägga till att vi tog tåget dit ifrån Nuwara Elya och woooow det skulle jag verkligen rekommendera för var SÅ vackert. Jag tog inga kort av någon anledning, men det var verkligen så himla fint!!

Jessica and I ordered a strawberry milkshake each at the hotel, but got chocolate ones instead. We told the waiter when he came and he just answered "yes yes this is strawberry", and we just laughed a lot at it and decided not to mention it again. Kalle had however complained on the hotel so many times so we decided not to tell him, but he overheard us saying that haha. so he convinced us we should tell them so he did and then we actually got two apologies and then got two new ones for free, yay! It was all really funny, but so worth it at the end because we both agreed those were like the best milkshakes we've ever tasted.

We went to both a fish-market and a fruit-market and it's safe to say we enjoyed h´the fruit one a lot more... It was interesting seeing how big the fish-market was and how it worked since it's a big thing there, but it smelled absolutely horrid and it was like a never ending tour so we were glad to leave to go to the fruit-market. The "fruit-market" however, didn't have as much fruit as we would have wished. There were more random things than fruits unfortanely. But we got some coconuts at least!

Vi åkte till både ne fiskmarknad och en fruktmarknad! Det var intressant att se hur stort det är och hur det fungerar på fiskmarknaden, eftersom det är en sån stor 'industri' där. Tyvärr var den ganska hemsk dock pga att det luktade helt groteskt och det kändes som att touren aldrig tog slut... Vi var glada att åka och köpa frukt. Men "frukt-marknaden" som vi blev tagna till var till majoritet mest en massa random grejer och inte så mycket frukt. Men vi fick lite olika kokosnötter iallafall! 

After two days in Negombo it was time to travel home. Such a great trip with a great team!! Feeling superblessed!

Sedan efter två dagar i Negombo så var det dags att resa hem. Fantastisk resa med ett fantastisk team! Så tacksam.

The Van Goya School

We got to visit the same school I visited three years ago and it was so much fun!! Unfortanely I did not recognise any of the kids, only the teachers. But it was three years ago, and we were also there on the weekend last time and not on school time, so I think these kids were a lot younger too. However; it was amazing. We got to play a drama for them and talk about Jesus, and then we had some games with swedish candy. It was so much fun!! They are so freaking cuteeeee

Vi fick hälsa på samma skola som jag och mamma hälsade på för tre år sedan och det var SÅ kul!! Tyvärr kände jag inte igen några barn, bara lärarna. Men det var ju också tre år sedan plus att dessa barn var rätt yngre eftersom vi var där under skoltid denna gång. Hursomheslt var det sjukt kul att hälsa på igen!! Vi fick köra vårt drama och berätta om Jesus, sedan hade vi även lite lekar med kolasnören. Det var så himla kul!! Barnen här är så sjukligt söta, åh

The longer plant to the left the tree we planted three years ago, it's supposed to become a lime-tree. I'm not gonna lie, a little dissapointed that it's so freaking tiny hahah

Den längre till vänster är lime-trädet vi fick plantera tre år sedan! Måste ärligt säga att jag var lite besviken att det var så litet och mesigt hahah.

Their school is so tiny it actually hurts my heart a little. But we are hoping to help them with building an extra classroom, which is exciting!! We did give get to give them all some more swedish candy to try and I freaking love this last picture because I they all look so cute and confused by our candy haha. Oh man, I love em

Deras skola är så liten att det gör ont, men vi hoppas kunna hjälpa dem bygga ut den snart, så det är sjukt kul! Vi fick hursomhelst ge dem alla lite svenskt godis att testa, och jag älskarr verkligen den här sista bilden då de alla ser helt chockade & förvirrade ut av godiset haha. Oh man, I love em!

Rektorn och lärarna bjöd på banan, kex & te! Är verkligen standard att bjuda på det, vi tappade snabbt räkningen på hur många Sri Lankeser som bjöd oss på detta!

I find this picture so funny because at every village we went to Erik always had to drag me and Elias out because we didn't wanna leave, so this picture describes the situations to tee with us and Kalle being with the kids and him already getting ready to leave hahah.

Var så himla kul för i varje by så fick Erik typ slita iväg mig och Elias för att åka för vi tyckte det var så svårt och tråkigt att åka ifrån barnen och ville stanna längre. Därmed är denna bilden så himla klockren där Erik redan gör sig redo för att åka medan vi andra leker med barnen hahah. Ännu mer komiskt för ser lite ut som att barnet som highfivar Kalle är på väg att highfiva Erik medan han stänger dörren lol.

Ugh they are so freaking cute. Hoping I'll be able to come back again one day!

Sri Lanka is INCREDIBLE. It is legit one of the most beautiful countries I've ever been to!

Sri Lanka är heeeelt sjukt vackert. Är lätt en av de vackraste länder jag varit i!

It was so funny, we were standing and taking in the view, taking some pics and just enjoying it when a Tuctuc came by and stopped and pointed and smiled at us like we were some major celeberities. I guess white people are cooler than beautiful sceneries of waterfalls and mountains in their eyes, lol.

Det var så himla komiskt när vi stod och njöt av den vackra utsikten så kom denna tuctuc och pekade och smilade åt oss som om vi var något helt amazing. Tydligen är vita människor mycket mer intressanta och coolare än vackra vyer med berg & vattenfall i deras ögon.. haha

The highest mountain in Sri Lanka

We got to go up on top of the highest mountain in Sri Lanka. There was a big military base up there so we had to have our passports to even get up there. It was gorgeous and even higher up than Kebnekaise, Swedens highest mountain. We were told though that they unfortanely shut down the best spot with the greatest view because of some military thing. It was too bad since a lot of trees and stuff were covering the view where we were allowed to stand and take pictures. But still; it was gorgeous!

Vi fick åka upp på Sri Lankas högsta berg, som är högre upp än Kebnekaise! Det är en stor militärbas däruppe och tyvärr hade de stängt av den bästa delen där man ser som bäst. Det var synd eftersom träd och mycket annat täckte vyn där vi var tillåtna att stå och ta kort. Men man ska inte klaga; var ju fortfarande fantastiskt fint!

They were judging me hardcore for taking pictures of the flowers on top of a mountain, but hey, look at these colours! Couldn't resist them!

Constant question everywhere in Nuwara Elya; is that a cloud or just fog?? Haha. Since it's so high up in the mountains it's hard to know. But I am pretty sure this was a cloud, since we now were very high up!
Konstanta frågan i Nuwara Elya; är det där ett moln eller bara dimma?? Haha. Eftersom allting ligger så högt upp så är det svårt att veta. Men jag är rätt säker på att detta var ett moln, eftersom vi var så pass högt upp nu.
